She shot at the ground inches from the paw of the lead Lios causing them to freeze again. Avriel whirled back to the Lios who she had, literally, disarmed and stabbed him in the throat to silence his screams. Judging by the fear of her unexpected night visitor and their actions Avriel guessed they were after whomever was pounding on her front door. Placing him in the carrier on her chest she grabbed her rifle and headed for the cavern entrance.
